I received a call from Fala Holidays, informing me that my name had been selected in a LUCKY DRAW at Orian Mall, and I had won three prizes: a silver coin, a free trip anywhere in India, and a shopping voucher. They sent me a location on WhatsApp and asked me to visit their office to claim these gifts.

Upon arriving at their office, I discovered that they were actually trying to sell me a MEMBERSHIP. The membership sounded incredibly appealing, with promises of free trips and other enticing offers. However, the catch was that I had to make a decision before leaving their office, and if I said “yes” to the offer, I would be committed to a substantial EMI payment.

Doesn’t that raise suspicions? Why should I start making payments for something before even deciding on a vacation? I wanted to hear the full details before making a decision. They asked me very intrusive questions, including my credit card limit and balance. Their line of questioning seemed dubious, but the salesperson remained polite, so I didn’t lose my temper.

Ultimately, my decision was clear: this was not a legitimate offer, and I declined it. As soon as we declined, their attitude toward us changed dramatically. They only gave us the silver coin (valued at about 120 rupees) and a letter for the trip (which covered only accommodation at a 3-star hotel with which they had an exclusive tie-up, and we had to pay an administrative fee of Rs. 2500/- before booking). As for the third gift, they mentioned sending us a link via WhatsApp, but despite our attempts to contact them over the past week, there has been no response.

In hindsight, we are relieved that we didn’t accept any of their offers. These individuals and their operation are riddled with warning signs!
